Our commitment
We aim for this website to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We build for optical and audiology practices, so accessibility isn't a box-tick for us — many of the people we serve, and their patients, rely on it. This statement covers the marketing website; the i-Clarity platform itself is assessed separately with our customers.
What we've done
- Structure — every page uses a logical heading order and landmark regions (header, main, footer), so screen-reader users can navigate by heading and region.
- Keyboard — everything interactive (navigation menus, tabs, toggles, the chat, forms, disclosures) works with a keyboard, with visible focus. Dropdown menus open on focus and close on Escape.
- ARIA where it helps — tabs, menus, expandable sections and live regions are labelled with roles and states (
aria-selected,aria-expanded,aria-pressed,aria-live) so assistive technology announces what's happening. - Colour and contrast — text meets AA contrast against its background; information is never conveyed by colour alone (for example, discipline badges in the feature reference also carry text equivalents).
- Text — real text, not images of text; resizable to 200% without loss; readable line lengths.
- Product visuals — illustrations and product mock-ups that carry meaning have text alternatives; purely decorative canvas animations are hidden from assistive technology (
aria-hidden) and their meaning is conveyed in adjacent text. - Forms — every field is labelled; errors and success messages are announced via a live region.
- No time limits — nothing on the site expires or requires a fast response.
Motion and animation
The site uses animation to show how the platform connects information. If your device or browser is set to reduce motion, we respect it: animations are replaced with their finished, static state, auto-advancing sequences stop, and nothing moves continuously. Every animation also has a text description of what it shows, so its meaning doesn't depend on seeing it move.
Known limitations
We're honest about where we're still working:
- The chat assistant is a third-party widget (GPTMate). We've confirmed it's keyboard-reachable, but its internal accessibility is controlled by the provider. If it doesn't work for you, every question it can answer can also be sent via the contact form, and we'll reply personally.
- Some canvas-drawn demonstrations (for example the ecosystem orbit and the practice-voices device) are decorative or explained in adjacent text rather than made individually navigable — the information is available in text, but the graphic itself isn't interactive for screen readers.
- Third-party pages we link to (our Knowledge Base, customer websites) are outside our control.
We test with keyboard navigation, browser zoom, reduced-motion settings and screen-reader spot checks. We haven't yet commissioned a full independent audit; when we do, we'll publish the findings here.
